No child should be part of war – and especially not those kids with significant health challenges.
Team Ukraine exists to provide housing, food, clothing, medical assistance, and equipment to low-income refugee families with children with special medical needs who had to flee Ukraine due to Russia’s invasion.
We believe no child should go without essential medical care because of this unjust war.
Your donation will go directly to women and children who are in desperate need of life-saving care.
Every single dollar you donate will go straight to Ukrainian families in need.
We have helped more than 65 refugee families living in Poland through our dedicated team of volunteers.
Below are just a few of the families that your donation will immediately impact.

Khristina and Misha
The biological father unfortunately abandoned the family so Khristina is alone. Misha was born with 6 fingers and has leukemia and liver problems. His immune system is so weak that they can't risk transport so we are providing housing for the family across the street from the hospital as well as medical support.
From: Donetsk
Olesia and Artem
Olesia is divorced, and her family has had no support. Artem is four years old and suffers from cerebral palsy. We are providing Olesia and Artem with housing and additional medical equipment since Artem is unable to stand by himself and needs care 24/7.
From: Kharkiv
Svitlana and Ksenia
Svitlana and Ksenia had to escape from occupied Kharkiv and lost their house. Ksenia is ten years old and has cerebral palsy. We are providing housing, clothing and special equipment needed for Ksenia’s care.
From: Cherkasy
Andrew and Yuri
Yuri has pediatric cancer and needs a bone marrow transplant. There is a long waiting list in Poland for transplants, so we are providing Andrew and Yuri with housing and medical support.
From: Kyiv
Victoria and Vladislav
Vladislav has had a coccygeal hernia from birth and has already had two operations in Ukraine before the war broke out. Unfortunately, complications came back and therefore they need one more operation in November in Warsaw; we are providing housing during this difficult preparation and recovery.
From: Zaporizhya
Kristina and Akim
Akim has severe autism, which made Kristina nervous to leave Ukraine and expose Akim to a new environment. But the sirens and rockets were so frequent in Zaporizhzhya that it was causing Akim to have nervous breakdowns. We are providing long term accommodation.
From: Vinnytsia
Iryna, Maksym and Ivan
The eldest son Maksym has a rare nervous system disease called White Sutton Syndrome, and Ivan is now exhibiting signs of the same disorder. Neither are able to sleep during the night due to complications. We are providing housing and medical support for their care.
From: Zhytomyr
Anna and Milana
Milana is developmentally delayed due to brain trauma and also suffers from epileptic seizures. The family has lacked access to neurologists, so in addition to housing we are paying for neurologist visits and ongoing diagnostics (EEG, MRIs, etc.). Anna’s husband is a soldier in the Ukrainian army and has been wounded.
From: Kharkiv
Inna and Sergey
Sergey has Down Syndrome and inoperable heart disease that restricts his walking to less than fifteen minutes at a time. They also lost their home in Ukraine during the fighting. We are providing this family with long term housing and care.
When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, we started receiving requests for help finding apartments and medical assistance in Poland for relatives and friends in Ukraine.
Within weeks, as others learned about our efforts, the number of displaced Ukrainians in our new "family" had grown to more than 100. Though we have helped many types of Ukrainian refugees, it soon became clear that we had to focus on those with the most urgent needs: low income families with children with serious health challenges.
We believe no child should lose access to life-saving medical care because of this senseless war.
We are software veterans in America and Poland – many of us with Ukrainian roots – that have worked with the amazing people of Ukraine for more than a decade. This puts us in a unique position to help those Ukrainian families that are suffering from the crippling devastation that Russia’s invasion has caused.
We get your dollars directly to low income Ukrainian refugee families with children that require significant medical care and attention.
Svitlana and Ksenia
When the war began, we came to Gdansk and needed special equipment for Ksenia. Team Ukraine helped us find and buy a special bathtub for my daughter, and warm clothes for my kids. We are beyond grateful for your help.
Inna and Miron
We are from Dnipro and I escaped Ukraine with my four-month-old son Miron by train. It took me four days to reach Warsaw. I was standing in Central Station, lost and hopeless. Team Ukraine met me and helped with housing as well as a baby stroller. Thank you so much for your help!
Olga and Her Five Adopted Children
We are from Semenivka, a village in northern Ukraine. In February I lost my job because of the war. I love kids and we decided to adopt two more girls (in addition to the three orphans I previously adopted), who lost their parents when the war started. But we needed support with accommodation, food, clothes, utilities and special medical needs. My family and I are so very grateful for your support.
Anastasia and Sofia
We are from Donetsk. I had to leave my relatives and bring my daughter to safety in Poland. Thank you for your help with housing and with all the initial support you provided.
Together with the Ukrainian Ministry Of Education, Team Ukraine has been able to deliver more than 100 donated laptops for Ukrainian children and their teachers to areas close to the frontline, but our goal is to provide many more computers for these kids.
